Description

This Rug Settler pack is specifically designed to solve a common problem: thick rugs slipping over thinner carpets or mats. It works where the overlay rug thickness is between 0.5 inch (½ inch) and 1 inch, and the underlay thickness is no more than 0.25 inch (¼ inch). The Rug Settler pin holds both layers securely with a firm grip, keeping your rugs flat, stable, and safe, even in high-footfall areas.

Use it for:

  • Thick decorative rugs on top of thin carpets
  • Entryway mats on hallway runners
  • Throws or plastic sheets that need anchoring
  • Pet-prone areas where rugs often shift

Features

  • 6 Rug Pins per Pack
  • Transparent rounded top for low visual impact
  • Black metallic dual-prong design for strong grip
  • Pin designed to embed in both overlay and underlay materials
  • Comfortable grip top for easy thumb pressure
  • Works without tools or adhesives
  • Flush-fit top to reduce trips and bumps
  • Reusable, removable, and durable

How to Insert the Rug Settler (Step-by-Step Instructions)

The Rug Settler is designed with a two-prong pin mechanism. One pin inserts vertically through the top rug, while the second angled pin bends and embeds under the lower rug or mat, creating a secure anchor point. Use this method to avoid slippage and rug curling.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Lift the Overlay Rug
Raise the top rug approximately 2–3 inches to create working space.
  2. Grip the Rug Settler Properly
Hold the transparent top with your thumb and fingers from opposite sides.
  3. Insert the First Prong
Push the vertical pin straight down through the top rug. Avoid angling it.
  4. Bend and Embed the Second Prong
As you continue pressing down, the angled leg of the wire bends naturally at a 45° angle and slides under the underlay surface.
  5. Ensure Full Insertion
Once both legs are embedded, press firmly to make sure the transparent top lies flush with the rug surface. This ensures no tripping hazard.
  6. Mark the Spot for the Next Pin (Optional)
If you're using more than one Rug Settler, mark where the first pin went in to align the others for best placement.
  7. Repeat Across the Rug
Install one Rug Settler at each corner of your rug. For long rugs or high-traffic areas, add more along the sides or center.

Do Not:

  • Insert the Rug Settler diagonally
  • Use on extremely thick overlays (over 1 inch)
  • Force the pin through synthetic rugs or tight-woven rubber backings

Points to Consider

  • Rug Settlers are most effective when total combined thickness (overlay + underlay) does not exceed 1 inch.
  • If the overlay is thicker than 1 inch, this product may not anchor securely.
  • If the overlay is too thin, such as below 0.5 inch, the Rug Settler may not hold firmly.
  • For thinner overlays or low-pile rugs, use our standard Rug Settlers instead.

Best Places to Use These Rug Settlers

This product is effective when used:

  • In entryways or hallways where foot traffic lifts rug edges
  • Under furniture corners to hold rugs in place
  • In offices or RVs where rugs slide over vinyl or plastic mats
  • Along rug edges that curl or ripple

For best results, apply Rug Settlers:

  • At all four corners
  • Midway along edges on large rugs
  • Wherever there's visible curling or shifting

Use the horizontal, vertical, or diagonal layout pattern for placement, depending on the shape and size of your rug. (Insert placement image here.)

Warnings & Limitations

  • Do not use if rug material is too thick to pierce or if base material resists entry.
  • If the top pin does not lie flat after insertion, remove and try a different spot.
  • These pins are not suitable for rugs with rubber or silicone anti-slip backing.
  • Not compatible with foam padding or vinyl flooring without a base rug.

Reusable & Returnable

  • Rug Settlers can be reused multiple times across different rugs.
  • If you are unsatisfied or have trouble with insertion, return is available with full refund.
